I’ve owned the car for 6 years, but using a van daily now and I don’t have the space to keep this anymore.
Last year it had a new battery, tyres and a brake caliper for the mot. This year it had the front drop links done. Rear sub frame bushes were done a couple of years ago and I replaced the MAF and oxygen sensors around the same time. Other than this and the usual brake and tyre changes, the car has been faultless. 10 service stamps up to 2022. After this time I have done it annually myself as it’s easy and a lot cheaper than going to a garage. Will be due again around August.
This year it has started to make a bit of a creaking noise on the front passenger side. This wasn’t an issue to get through the MOT but there was an advisory stating ‘top mount bearing slightly stiff’. I can only assume it is this. There is a ‘engine malfunction’ notification (not engine management light) that comes up when starting the car. This has been there since I blanked the EGR valve off around 5 years ago. This can easily be removed if you want it reverting back to standard, but honestly it runs so much better with the blank in place.
Other issues include one of the rear passenger doors not always unlocking with the central locking. Front passenger door doesn’t always close first try, not sure if it is the mechanism or it has dropped slightly. This door also has a rust patch at the bottom (shown in pictures). Sat nav does not know where you are due to GPS not working anymore. This could be fixed with a new GPS antenna but being a 2009, the sat nav is pretty rubbish anyway. Radio is rubbish as well, also due to the aerial.
Body work is reasonable for a car of this age. I did get fence paint on one side of the car a few years ago which I never bothered to clean off as it’s only noticeable up close. I did however have to polish my partners white car as it was clearly noticeable and she was ready to throttle me (don’t use a paint sprayer on a windy day). I’ve given the car a quick clean but it really needs a full detail to clean it inside and out properly.
Front seats are heated, has cruise control, Factory extra DVD player in the glove box, screens in the head rests, two sets of headphones and a remote for this.
A lot of car for someone if they clean it up and address the issues that bother them. I just don’t have the time to do anything with it. It’s taken me a month to get it listed on here!
