Hi all, Yet again, I am relisting this XR2i, as another highest bidder has failed to pay/contact me. Please can I ask, if you don’t want this Fiesta, don’t bid, and if you are the highest bidder, please pay and collect.Apologies to all the genuine ers out there, and thanks for your interest in this XR2i.
Description:
This 1991, H plate, Ford Fiesta XR2i, 1600 CVH has been family owned since new,
with my brother being the only former keeper.
It has been stored since it failed it’s MOT in 2006 due to rusty sills
and rust underneath.
The condition has deteriorated over the years, and I am now
unlikely to restore to it’s original condition, as I have too many projects. Could be restored if someone is handy enough
to take it on, or would make an excellent donor car for someone restoring their
XR2i, or upgrading their fiesta to XR2i spec.
Mileage is 119,700 miles, and was meticulously maintained
when it was on the road. Car is totally
standard, complete and unmodified, but bodywork rust is the issue. Interior is complete and in excellent condition, and
engine starts and runs well. It will need
to be trailered away, but can be driven onto the trailer.
Required replacement body panels can be sourced from Klokkerholm
or a UK supplier, except for the Fiesta mk3 floor panel (the last time I
looked). The car will come with
replacement bonnet and a pair of doors, all in very good condition.
Former XR Owners Club member.
Collection only from Penwortham, Preston, Lancs. Please view the photos, as they have been
taken last week. Viewing by arrangement
before end of auction is welcome and recommended. I am looking to sell as a complete package,
rather than breaking for individual spares.
Thanks for looking. Any questions, please ask.
Included with the car:
– Original documents and owner’s manuals.
– Full service/parts history.
– Original carpet has been covered by original Ford car mats
from new, so is in excellent condition.
– Seats do not have any holes/rips/stains, but the cover
material on the front seats has detached from the foam base, so will need
to be reglued.
– Dash is standard, complete and also has no holes/cracks.
– Comes with 2 keys. The central locking and boot release button
all work.
– Cobra immobiliser with 2 fobs. Thatcham approved (as it had to be to get
insurance back in the 80s/90s!).
– 5 original alloy wheels with centre caps, locking wheel nuts
with original spare nuts.
– Original plastic engine undertray with foam drip mat. These are extremely rare, especially in this
condition.
– Original period Ford stereo with code (radio/cassette). Original speakers not working well. Parcel shelf is uncut and excellent
condition.
– Engine has had recent oil, filter and plugs, and has been started regularly.
– Front bumper, arches and side skirts removed to view
condition of body.
Spares include:
– Replacement bonnet in excellent condition with original insert
from the car.
– Replacement pair of doors, in very good condition, which
have been de-locked for remote central locking.
– Spare parcel shelf in excellent condition.- New handbrake cable- New blue bumper insert strip.
– Towbar (I put it on the car for a while, but I never
actually towed anything with it).
– Halfords lockable roof rack which fits onto roof rails.
– New electric fuel pump.
I bought a new one when the car failed to start some time ago, but it turned out to be just a dirty connection.
– Box of bits and pieces, including spare Ignition coil pack, indicator/wiper stalks and a few other spares.
