Selling my Escort mk1 1600 crossflow. I purchased this car in september 2025 with the view of fully restoring her. Due to work commitments & time I am finding it difficult to do so. So i feel it should go to another home that can give it the time & attention it needs. It is a usable classic in the condition whe is in. I bought it from the grandson of the owner & it had been dry stored for many years. It was commsioned for that sale in august last year. New tyres, Brake master cylinder, track rod ends, battery, rear brakes. It was imported from South Africa some years ago. Everything works on it. I’ve added new rear lights, wiper blades, fuel/temp regulator. The car has never ever been welded. The sills are as new. Strut top as new. The floor & all chassis rails are in mint condition. The car has no oil leaks.The previous owner has lowered the car, but not so low. It does make a solid bumpy ride. The car as you can see does have about 6 areas that need addressing, but nothing too terrible. Its in better condition than some cars i see come into my garage. The seats are not original, or they maybe a SA spec. The car wants getting at by an enthusiast, it a great starting point for someone. The car hasnt been butchered in any way. Its original, apart from the colour whuch is now daytona yellow. It was green at somepoint, but it has been totally painted as all the shuts, under bonnet, in the boot & underneath are all yellow. I have described the car exactly how it is, so if you win the car there is: No last price mate, whats the lowest you will go, Will you take my nan in part ex. I advise viewing the car before you buy if you can, thats only for youre peace of mind, there will be no haggling. All that does is waste youre time & mine as it simply isnt going to happen & if youve had a journey to get to me it will only waste youre time. Viewing is in Little Clacton co15 1ra area. Its stored at my Mot & service centre.Any question please ask & i will reply when i can. It will be cash on collection prefered or a bank transfer. The logbook WILL go in youre name. The car is for sale elsewhere so i reserve the right to pull it from if it sells.
