My neighbour has recently passed away and this is for sale

My neighbour has recently passed away and this is for sale
on behalf of his widow and family. Im reasonably familiar with the car, but if
theres any specific questions that I seem a bit vague on the answers with, this
is why!
Mk6 escort estate, Ghia, 1.8 16v petrol engine, 5 speed manual
box. Been family owned since it was a few years old, first by my neighbour’s
grandfather, and on his passing approximately 10yrs ago, my neighbour took it
on to replace his previous mk6 estate, and has used it daily as his main car
since. Currently shows four owners on the V5. MOT valid until 27th
July 2026. Original ford stereo and under seat multichanger all present,
correct and working. Terrible cd’s not included.
Its generally in pretty good condition for its age, however,
I have noted some issues. Please remember that its 28yrs old, and see the pics
for areas noted below. Better still, contact me, and come and have a look at it
first hand.
Leather interior, has damage to the drivers side bolster.
Some very light rust around the rear arches.

Headlining has been redone in black fabric some years ago,
the glue has subsequently failed, and it’s a bit ‘drapey’ in the back at the
moment. There is enough new fabric with the car to redo this.
Has been fitted with Mondeo wheels. They suit the car well,
but they do rub at full lock. This is only an issue during parking, they never
rub in normal driving.
Both my neighbour and his grandfather were smokers. Although
the car doesn’t seem to have retained any of the odour of this, there are signs
of burns on the ‘wood’ trim by the gearstick.
Its recently had some insurance paintwork on the front wing,
after it got scuffed in tescos, and whilst the job appears good, the colour match
is slightly off in the right light.
Good points
Genuine RS rear spoiler, Im not sure exactly how rare this
is, but I recall the excitement of him finding it at the time.
NOS rear bumper was painted and fitted around 2020 (this
took me years to find! A rather rash comment on my part), at the same time, both
front wings were replaced with genuine ford ones, and the majority of the car
was resprayed (I seem to recall only the bonnet and the roof *didn’t* get
painted)
Been owned by a ford nut, virtually everything that’s been
fitted will have been purchased from ford directly, even the battery came from
there, see picture.
Car has only done 72572 miles. Cambelt and headgasket were
both changed *about* 3 years ago, but I have no proof of this at all, as it wasn’t
recorded anywhere (there were no plans for the car to be sold). This work was
carried out by the owner using genuine ford parts.
