This car has a valid MOT which renews in July, it runs fine, but I suspect it might need some work to pass the next MOT.I want to be as honest as possible with this listing.This car isn’t perfect, and you’ll probably have to put some time and money into it if you want it to be on the road after this summer.
The main issues I’m aware of are the ABS light is on.This is most likely a new ABS pump needed.I got a quote for about £100 labour, and the part can be found for around £60.That’s the most obvious MOT issue.It’s also sometimes needs two tries to start.It always starts, but basically needs “priming” if it’s cold.Most likely a check valve in the fuel pump.Parts again are around £50, though I don’t think that issue would fail an MOT and it’s very usable as is.
There are a few other little things and some advisories which I’d recommend checking by looking up the reg online so you can verify for yourselves.
Some rust.Door cards are a little lose etc, as are hinges.
So, now that you know that all up front, if you’re still interested, there is the positive:
It has alloy wheels,good tyres with loads of tread,heated FRONT and hear windscreen,air conditioning,runs fine from what I can tell, has a good few months MOT left, and is ULEZ compliant!
Could be a great project for someone with a little more time than myself, or a pretty cheap car to learn in and bump into things without worrying about your dad’s paintwork…Alternatively I’d imagine it might be of interest to someone for banger racing.
It was left to me by a relative (don’t worry, he didn’t die, he just moved to Australia!) and I was planning to restore it, but with family commitments, I don’t have much time right now.
I don’t have it insured or taxed, so can’t offer a full test drive, but you’re welcome to start it on the drive and move it back and forth a bit if that helps…If you’re wanting to test it though, that needs to be done before the end of the auction.Sales are final and sold as seen.
You’d obviously need to get your own insurance and tax it before driving away, or bring a trailer.
As far as I know he was using it to regularly commute until last week, and never had any major issues with it.
I’ll do my best to answer any questions, and can happily provide more photos if that helps.
